Yesterday your child was given their planner and we started our home reading program.  Your child will select his/her own book to take home each night.  They may initially choose books that are too easy or difficult, but that is OK.  We are trying  help them develop the skill of choosing books that are right for them and this does take time.  Please help your child learn the routine... after reading, you sign planner and then they need to return book and planner back into the ziplock bag and then back into their backpack.  Thanks for your assistance with this.  On Fridays we will be sending home their 'Literacy Folders' which is  a poetry/song duotang.
