Today is the last day of September - can you believe it?
We started our home reading program this week, parents should be sure to read the purple notice and the blog (Sept. 27th) if they have any questions about this program. Today the children are bring home their Literacy Folders and have two songs to share with you. These will be returned each Monday.
This week we have been sorting! Yesterday we brainstormed lots of different sorting rules that we use when grouping or classifying. At home practice sorting objects and ask your child their different rules. We are now starting patterns in Math.
In gym this week we played with the scooters! We tried them on our own, then played and worked together and problem-solved to discover how we could make them move faster, connect together etc. It was lots of fun!
We have turned our class tree into an apple tree. We used oil pastels to create our favourite kind of apple. Before putting them up though we made a graph, Delicious apples were the most popular.
We worked in our All About Me Books, we did our birthday page this morning. Today Matthew celebrated his 6th birthday. We each have a special candle which we used to make a birthday graph. In June 4 students have birthdays, that month has the most and February and November have no birthdays.
Everyone who has not brought in a baby picture please do so as soon as possible. Also could parents please come in to sign up to bring treats for one holiday this year. Thank you.
Until next week...
