February 3rd

This week we...

*made spiral hearts with our big buddies
*finished group posters
*started new math stations where we are practicing addition and subtraction
*put the song 'One Great Stallion' in our literacy folder (this song is quite difficult but they love it so really wanted it in their folder)
*finished our 'footprint' Snowman - they all look awesome!  Next time you are in for Family Reading make sure to look out in the hall at our display.  Thanks to Aedan's mom for helping us make all the footprints!
*started a new class behaviour plan where we get points for our table group and each day a 'Star Citizen' is chosen.  We are learning that our classroom is a community and that we must all work and contribute to make it run smoothly and effectively.

***We are excited to see that some students are using the class blog to communicate with their classmates - way to write Division 9!

PLEASE NOTE:  Early next week your child will be bringing home a notice with all the student's names in the class for making class valentines.  If you wanted to start them this weekend you could go on the student blog and there is a list there of all students in Division 9.
Hundred Day is also coming up Wednesday, Feb. 22nd and we are asking that each student bring in a poster with 100 objects.   We want the students to be creative and design anything they would like using 100 things (cereal pieces, pennies, pompoms, stickers, candy, paperclips, pictures, etc.).  We will be sending a piece of paper home that could be used for this project.  Thank you in advance for your help with this project.
