Wow it is June 1st, the beginning of our last month of school.
We realize as summer approaches and the evenings are light longer, it is more difficult to keep regular routines. It is however, very important for children to get to bed at their regular time and arrive at school on time. By doing this you are helping your children realize that we still have lots of work and learning to do. We will change their Just Right Reading one more time so they can keep reading each night. Also for the rest of the year the students can choose their daily nightly reading from different bins (they are very excited about this so if they choose a book that is too difficult for them please just help them or read it to them and then have them read their JRR). Could everyone please be checking everywhere at home for classroom books - we often get stacks that seem to have gone missing for months. Thank You.
This week we learned 3 different ways to spell there, their and they're. Ask me about these. They will be my words of the week on Monday.
The June calendar is now up on the blog so please be sure to check this.
Volunteer Tea is on Tuesday, June 5th. All the primary students will be singing several songs that they are excited to present to you. We also made special placemats for the tea.
Another art project we did this week was a special page for Mrs. Cooper's book. She is retiring this year.
Friday is our field trip to Grouse Mountain, we are all excited.
Lily and her family were very pleased with your generosity and kindness in their time of need. It is so wonderful when communities pull together! Thank you :)
